Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Controller will be responsible for oversight of all finance, accounting, and reporting activities. The Controller will lead all day-to-day finance operations and supervise a team of 5 staff members including functional responsibility over project accounting, corporate accounting, accounts payable and payroll.

Function Note:
  • Manage the monthly accounting close and prepare monthly financial reports in an accurate and timely manner;
  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements;
  • Coordinate all tax compliance and the external, DCAA, and other government audit activity;
  • Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants;
  • Prepare the annual incurred cost submission, ensuring adequacy and compliance with FAR regulations;
  • Leverage strengths of the current finance team members and develop and implement training programs to improve individual and team skills;
  • Implement accounting policies and procedures;
  • Maintain internal controls and safeguards; and
  • Provide leadership in strengthening internal communication with staff at all levels throughout the organization.

Requirement Note:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting;
  • MBA or CPA preferred
  • 10+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience, preferably in a combination of public accounting, consulting industry, or government contracting;
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), the ability to research technical accounting literature and apply such guidance to new and existing transactions;
  • Highly proficient in Excel;
  • Experience with Unanet, Dynamics SL or Deltek Costpoint
  • A minimum of three years of government contract accounting experience preferred; and
  • A minimum of five years of supervisory experience preferred.
