Function Note:

Be involved with an exciting and expanding firm and be responsible for purchasing everything from office supplies to freight services.   Source, order and expedite finished goods, raw materials and packaging.   Maintain supply of goods based on Supply Chain Manager requisitions.   Maintain databases required to track inventory and purchase orders.   Be involved with component and finished goods costing, investigating, and negotiating with approved vendors.   Provide ongoing solutions to challenges related to the importation of goods and raw materials from Asian market.   Track changes to costs and provide summaries.   Provide all product material, packaging and artwork specifications to vendors as required.   Issue computer generated orders for goods and expedite as required.   Track and maintain record of exchange rates and resin prices.   Negotiate incoming and outgoing freight rates.   Arrange container shipments and inspections with vendors and 3rd parties as required.   Be aware of all documentation required to arrange the proper and seamless importation of goods into Canada or U.S. as required.   Review impact of changing global tariff rates on imported and exported goods.   Track shipments that qualify for duty drawbacks.   Submit claims for and track payment of same.   Review opportunities for tariff reclassification, in order to reduce costs. Support the Supply Chain Manager with other duties and responsibilities.  

Requirement Note:

An Ideal candidate brings minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in the support and supervision of inventory,   warehousing, and import/export functions.   A background in forecasting and demand planning and experience in retail merchandising and promotion ideal.   Experience with the importation of goods and raw materials from Asia, along with monitoring and reporting on increasing tariffs.   A team player with a university education, degree in administration, logistics, or similar Supply Chain would be ideal. Well versed in coordinating inventory operations to ensure received and supplied products are accounted for.   Able to regulate shipments from warehouse to ensure effective and timely delivery of client orders.   Self motivated and independent individual who works well individually to produce results, or part of a team.
