Function Note:

Our client, a major healthcare provider is looking for a knowledgeable, results driven, and enthusiastic Public Sector Category Specialist for their offices in the Western GTA.   Develop and demonstrate expertise in contracting with Public Sector organizations, involving product and supplier knowledge, strategic sourcing, clinical practices, supply chain and market trends.   Lead and execute multiple strategic sourcing processes from start to finish.   (Right from determing need, interviewing, Request for Qualifications and Request for Proposals for the category, including timelines, communications, and maintaining information systems for reporting and tracking.) Facilitate and manage trusting relationships with suppliers and clients and promote a culture of cohesiveness and inclusion.   Manage a small team of direct reports also involved with Category Management, specifically with Public Sector clients.

 

 



Requirement Note:

Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4+ years of public sector experience, ideally involved with contracting and a sound understanding of all trade arrangements and directives .   Knowledge of the hospital and/or healthcare system in Ontario, along with strong category management and contracting skills, including various areas such as clinical, wound care, operating instruments and equipment, medical devices, etc. ideally.   Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and timelines with high attention to detail.   Ability to gain consensus for decision making, influence a variety of stakeholders, via in person meetings, conference calls, and webinar based initiatives.   Excellent English language skills (reading, written, verbal and comprehension.)   A Certified Supply Chain Management Professional (CSCMP) or similar, a definate asset.   Leadership abilities that can focus on taking charge, accomplishing goals, and developing and motivating staff to achieve team goals.

 

Proven ability to think critically and analytically to understand complex situations and be able to problem solve.
