PAE is a leader in providing worldwide solutions for base operations, logistics, construction, airfield operations, and personnel placement.
PAE is currently seeking a Controls Technician to support an exciting new mission in support of the National Science Foundation’s Antarctic Operations.
Responsible for the commissioning, diagnosis, calibration, repair of environmental-control systems and process, utilizing knowledge of electronics, direct digital control (DDC), airflow, hydronics, refrigeration theory, pH sensors, flow meters, electrical meters and system control techniques.
Analyzes, diagnoses, and repairs direct digital control system components.
Performs preventive maintenance, component replacement and corrections as needed.
Maintains adherence to the configuration control process and proposes changes to the existing systems via the Configuration Change Request (CCR) process in concurrence with the responsible engineers for each area.
Works with the Controls Engineer, Power Plant Engineer, Power Plant Supervisor(s) and the Facility Engineer to keep all control systems, mechanical and electromechanical field devices operating according to the basis of design.
Works to keep these systems operating as efficiently as possible.

Requirement Note:

High School diploma or equivalent is required. Associates degree in controls, systems, mechanical or electrical engineering is preferred.
Minimum of eight years of experience in the maintenance of complex controls systems with multiple interactions is required. Must have knowledge of how DDC, PLC, and/or other industrial control systems work to include some minor programming. Must know and understand controls and electromechanical systems. Must have knowledge of troubleshooting some or all of the following equipment: furnaces, boilers, pumps, fans, modulating valves, fluid flow and air flow systems, heat trace, electrical and controls systems.
PHYSICAL AND / OR OTHER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS: Deployment may be required in this position at discretion of management. If required, the individual in the position must successfully complete the physical and dental examinations, and psychological examination for winter-over positions, as required by the NSF for deploying to Antarctica. Failure to meet these requirements may result in withdrawal of employment offer or other employment action. Complies with applicable safety, environment, health, and waste management policies and procedure. US citizenship or permanent residence is required.
