Tax Accountant

Position Type: This position can be either a direct hire or temp to hire, depending on the preferences of the candidate and client.

Location: Durham, NC

Pay Range: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year

Job Description: We are looking for a Tax Accountant with a minimum of 5 years of experience to work alongside our client. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of tax regulations, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work with clients to optimize their financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review complex tax returns, including individual, corporate, and partnership returns.
• Provide tax planning and consulting services to clients.
• Stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and regulations.
• Identify and resolve tax-related issues and discrepancies.
• Assist in the development of tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
• Research and interpret tax laws to ensure compliance and optimize tax savings.
• Perform financial analysis and support the preparation of financial statements.
• Work collaboratively with the client's accounting team to provide tax advice.
• Participate in the tax audit process and interact with tax authorities when necessary.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax accounting.
• Strong knowledge of tax regulations and laws.
• Communicate effectively with clients and maintain strong client relationships.
• Proficient in tax preparation software and financial software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with a strong analytical mindset.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
