Job Function:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Prepares receiving dock to accept incoming product by maintaining cleanliness of receiving areas and trash areas.
2. Loads and unloads delivery vehicles containing a variety of food products, supplies, chemicals, and equipment.
3. Operates a forklift, electric pallet jack, or delivery vehicles in a safe manner to move received product.
4. Inspects product to ensure product integrity, checks product temperature, as needed, and verifies product expiration codes.
5. Receives and processes delivery acknowledgement receipts and matches receipts and packing slips against purchase orders to ensure accuracy.
6. Prepares and picks canned goods, frozen food products, paper supplies, office materials, chemicals, kitchen smallware items, and large equipment for delivery.
7. Receives, stores, organizes, and rotates stock utilizing proper storage methods and procedures.
8. Performs follow-up procedures on orders and reports with required documentation, damages, shortages, and discrepancies.
9. Monitors and maintains storage areas and warehouse equipment in a neat, clean, and orderly manner and recommends items for re-order to maintain necessary products, materials, and supplies on hand.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirement:
- MUST complete a Pre Employment Physical and TB Test
- MUST complete a background check
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
▪ Knowledge of warehouse operational methods, procedures, policies, rules & regulations;
▪ Knowledge of safe and proper loading and unloading of delivery vehicles;
▪ Knowledge of basic computing skills;
▪ Effective time management skills;
▪ Ability to exercise independent initiative to perform both original and recurring assignments, and exercise judgment in the absence of clear directives; ▪ Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form using a variety of communication techniques and tools to ensure the appropriate flow of information, collaborative efforts, and feedback;
▪ Ability to perform basic math calculations;
▪ Ability to work independently and with limited supervision;
▪ Ability to drive a large delivery truck;
▪ Ability to perform proper lifting techniques and use of warehouse equipment;
▪ Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school system staff.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
▪ High school diploma or equivalent; AND
▪ Five years of warehouse experience involving the receipt, storage and distribution of food and supplies utilizing warehouse equipment; AND
▪ Experience operating large delivery trucks; OR
▪ An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
CERTIFICATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
▪ Within 90 days of employment, complete training, and certification requirements as a forklift operator;
▪ Successful completion of Child Nutrition’s Food Safety Class;
▪ Must hold and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator’s license according to the State of North Carolina requirements.
