Function Note:

An experienced Project Procurement Manager is required to assist in the management and coordination of exciting and complex procurement requirements (multi year consulting, construction contracts and construction management contracts of significant value) to help change the face of the City of Toronto.  


Recommend procurement and delivery method based on specific requirements, procurement policy and best practices.   Provide advice and specialist expertise regarding procurement process and documents.   Have a thorough understanding of procurement documents (negotiable RFP's, tenders, and contracts.)   Lead and manage evaluation processes including facilitation of evaluation team meetings and award recommendation.   Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts including supplementary conditions to CCDC documents and general conditions.   Provide strategic advice and expertise to project managers, internal staff and external consultants.   

Requirement Note:

Ideal candidate brings a through understanding of legal aspects of contracts (CCDC2, CCDC5B, CCDC14.)

Minimum of 5 years experience in managing the procurement components of construction manager contracts.   Post secondary education and a purchasing designation would be an asset.   Proven experience, knowledge, interpretation and application of theories, principles and practices of procurement administration, and management of construction projects.   Superior communication, listening, negotiation, writing and interpersonal skills.   Strong technical aptitude.   


Currently our client is operating in a hybrid working environment with employees currently spending a minimum of two days per week in the office and working the remainder remotely to maximize collaboration and engagement.
